USIU Business School

USIU Business School

Value of Project: $2.5 million
Size: 3,800sqm
Completion: 2004

The new School of Business is the first building designed by Beglin Woods on the USIU Campus, completed within the Master Plan redevelopment to upgrade the University to the status of a Major International Campus.

The new Business School design is based on a courtyard configuration by creating one main and two secondary court yards in between both classroom and administration wings.

The building is laid out so that the classroom activities are kept away from the lecturer’s offices and essential administration areas, by linking all of the areas by a series of open and covered walkways. The layout creates a vibrant student area in the open courtyard and covered walkway and study areas.

We have endeavoured to make this Business School a fun learning environment. Areas of roof light have been created using jack roofs and side mounted windows to bring light into the teaching staff wings. All of the main access corridors are open on one side and glazed on the other for acoustic reasons, to protect the staff acoustically from students making their way to classes.
