Directors
David Beglin has worked as an Architect in Kenya and East Africa since 1974.
He qualified in 1972 with a degree in architecture from University College Dublin and worked as an architect in London during 1972 - 1974.
He has held senior positions in some of the most prominent architectural firms in Kenya before forming his own practice in 1988.
In 1991 the practice merged with the practice of Simon Woods Architects to form Beglin Woods Architects & Interior Designers. The practice has grown and expanded rapidly and is now one of the most prominent practices in East Africa.
Simon Woods has worked as an Architect in Nigeria and East Africa since 1977. He qualified in 1976 with a degree in architecture from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He worked in Nigeria for 1 year working for a construction company, and then moved to Kenya to take up a position with Richard Hughes & Partners. He formed his own practice in 1980, and worked on a variety of major projects throughout the 80's.
In 1991 Simon Woods Architects merged with David Beglin Architect to form Beglin Woods Architects. Over the last 24 years, Beglin Woods Architects have been Architects and Interior Designers for a wide variety of major residential, commercial, industrial and tourism projects.
Katherine Mung’au joined BeglinWoods in 2003, and has grown swiftly from starting off as an architectural assistant into becoming a key Director in the practice. She now runs major projects in the Office, and plays a very important role.
She was selected last year as being in the top 40 under 40’s in Kenya, an impressive achievement.
